"Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you" is what our forefathers learned and firmly believed. The people who settled in this area were longing for a house of worship, their own place where they could feed their souls on the Bread of Life, where their little ones could be brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. This desire, along with the slow mode of transportation available then, prompted them to investigate the possibility of forming a congregation in their midst.

August, 1892, with firm confidence in the Lord, seven men met with Pastor J. Hoffman of Battle Creek with the purpose of establishing a Christian congregation. On that day, St. Paul Lutheran, Tilden, was established.

September, 1906, a Christian Day School was opened with thirty students.
